Thesis 2.0 … will this change everything (again) or wha…
Latest Update … Chris just gave a heads up tweet regarding the Thesis nav menu in the new version:
Yo, Thesis peeps, we’re going to be phasing out the old Thesis nav menu in favor of the WordPress nav menu in version 2.0.

Fun Thesis 2 Teaser Tweet!

…
I have a strong feeling that Thesis 2.0 will see public release late 2011, and reckon it’ll take a different approach to how we currently understand WordPress themes today.
I’ve even contemplated an evolved version of Thesis that is not a WordPress theme at all … a complete web site development platform of its own.
Could Thesis 2.0 be that? How the heck would I know! :-) If it were, maybe Chris Pearson / DIYthemes would offer both … a regular WordPress theme, AND a self-contained platform.
But please …
Notice the word contemplated above. I have not heard anything to make any claims. I really am just contemplating. In fact, based on available sources, I’d bet a lot of money on this new release of Thesis sticking to the WP platform, and I can’t see that changing any time soon.
Still … it’s fun to contemplate from time to time :-)
Update: Chris has stated that he will not deviate from the WordPress platform.
Thesis 2.0 price hike?
Yup! From what I’ve read, including the official site, this next release will arrive on the scene with a new price point. In fact, it’s going to make the current version look cheap!
Thankfully, current owners will upgrade to 2.0 for free (hint for those still on the fence?) …
Worth it, or what?
It’s impossible to form any opinion on the higher price point as we know virtually nothing about the new theme. We have to wait and see, right?
I will update this page accordingly … and once Thesis 2.0 is available, this page will reflect that and reveal all the juicy bits.

Drag & Drop functionality to make an appearance in Thesis 2? Yes, according to Chris Pearson’s comment on this post:
… you’ll be able to drag and drop the elements of your site with the next version of Thesis.

Chris Pearson tweeted this on July 26th:
I explained one of Thesis 2′s new abilities to a coder the other night, and it visibly blew his mind. Seriously, I had to hire a maid.
Interesting, no?
